The method of making lead alum
There is a technique today. To make lead alum, you need to use potassium sulfate and lead acetate (Lead II Acetate).
Prepare an appropriate amount of potassium sulfate first, put it in a clean vessel, its quality is pure and accurate. Compound lead acetate, also need to be of good quality.
Melt the potassium sulfate in water, stir slowly, so that the water is completely soluble, the water should be clear and clean. Lead acetate is also dissolved in the same way.
Then, slowly pour the solution of lead acetate into the potassium sulfate solution, pour it slowly, and keep stirring, so that the two are fully mixed.
At this time, it can be seen that there is a white precipitate gradually growing in the solution, which is the initial shape of lead alum.
When the precipitate is complete, let it stand for a while, so that the precipitate settles at the bottom of the vessel. Then, filter it with a fine filter cloth, leave it precipitated, and remove its clear liquid.
The resulting precipitate is rinsed with water several times to remove impurities. After rinsing, place the precipitate in a ventilated place, let it dry, and finally obtain pure lead alum. When making, all operations need to be done with caution, and follow the instructions to achieve success.
