Ethyl Acetate Manufacturing Process
Manufacturing process of ethyl acetate

Preparation of raw materials
Ethyl acetate manufacturing, ethanol and acetic acid need to be prepared as the main raw materials. Ethanol is selected with high purity, with few impurities, in order to facilitate smooth reaction. Acetic acid also seeks purity to ensure the reaction effect. In addition, catalysts such as sulfuric acid are indispensable, and their dosage is precisely controlled, which is the growth rate of the reaction and does not affect the quality of the product.

Reaction process
Inject ethanol and acetic acid into the reactor in a specific ratio. Start stirring to mix the materials evenly. Add an appropriate amount of sulfuric acid and start the heating device. The reaction is carried out at a suitable temperature and pressure, usually controlled at [X] ° C and maintained at [X] kPa. At this time, ethanol and acetic acid undergo esterification reaction to form ethyl acetate and water. In this process, the reaction temperature, pressure and material changes are closely monitored to ensure the stability of the reaction.

Product separation
After the reaction is completed, the product contains ethyl acetate, unreacted raw materials and catalysts. First, it is distilled, and the boiling point difference of each component is used to preliminarily separate. Ethyl acetate has a low boiling point and is evaporated first. Then it is operated by liquid separation. Because ethyl acetate and water are insoluble, it can be stratified to obtain pure ethyl acetate. However, it still contains a small amount of impurities and needs to be further refined.

Refining treatment
In order to achieve higher purity, the ethyl acetate initially separated is removed by adsorption method to remove residual trace impurities. Choose a suitable adsorbent, such as activated carbon, to absorb impurities. After that, it is rectified to precisely control the temperature and pressure to obtain high-purity ethyl acetate products. After testing, the purity is up to standard before packaging and storage.
