On the source of carbon-based food
Between heaven and earth, there is a spirit in everything, and the source of carbon-based food is related to people's livelihood, and it is fundamental and cannot be ignored.
In the ancient times, the ancestors relied on plants, fruits, and meat of animals for food. These are the sources of carbon-based food. Plants are born in heaven and earth, absorbing the essence of the sun and the moon, nourishing water and soil, and providing humans with fruits, roots and other satiating things. At that time, the grain was not prosperous, the fruits and vegetables were not fertile, and the production of the mountains and forests was the foundation for survival.
In later generations, farming became more and more prosperous. Farmers reclaimed fields and expanded the soil, and sowed seeds of grains. Millet grasses, rice and sorghum, wheat and hemp are all the bulk of carbon-based food. Spring is planted and autumn is harvested, and the cycle goes on and on. Where the land is fertile, the grain valleys are abundant, and the people can feed themselves; where the land is barren, the farmers also work hard to obtain a little harvest and make a living.
As for the mountains and rivers, they are also a treasure house of carbon-based food sources. In the mountains and forests, wild fruits are fragrant, and mushrooms grow; in the rivers and rivers, fish and shrimp are plump, and lotus roots are full of ponds. Fishermen operate boats and cast nets to catch fresh food in the water; woodcutters enter the mountains to pick wild fruit and mushrooms to increase the variety of food.
And the raising of livestock is also an important source of carbon-based food. Cattle, sheep, pigs, and chickens are born in grass-fed valleys and provide humans with meat, milk, and eggs. The meat of captive animals is plump and nutritious, and can be cooked into many delicacies for human enjoyment.
However, the acquisition and utilization of carbon-based food sources also need to be cautious. If the weather is not right and the wind and rain are not adjusted, the grain harvest will be poor, and the production of fruits and vegetables will be reduced; if diseases are prevalent and livestock are infected, meat and milk will be difficult to obtain. Therefore, the ancients worshiped the sky and the earth, offering sacrifices and prayers, so that the wind and rain would be smooth and the people would be prosperous.
Carbon-based food sources are the foundation of human survival, which are related to life and death, the rise and fall of honor and disgrace. It should be cherished and used reasonably to ensure that the people have no worries about food and pass on from generation to generation.
