Boating Carbon Monoxide Sources
Boating Carbon Monoxide Sources
The source of carbon monoxide in a boat

When a boat is traveling, the source of carbon monoxide cannot be ignored. There are various sources, which are related to the safety of the boat.

First, the power engine is an important source of carbon monoxide. When the boat engine is running, the fuel is burned, and if it is not burned enough, carbon monoxide will be generated. If the old engine, the parts are worn, and the proportion of oil and gas mixing is out of balance, it is more likely to cause this. The engine works in a closed or poorly ventilated cabin, and carbon monoxide cannot be dissipated in time, so it accumulates in it, threatening the safety of the people on the boat.

Second, the generator is also a hidden danger. Many boats are equipped with generators to supply electricity, but the operation of the generators also produces carbon monoxide. If the generator is placed close to the personnel activity area and there is a lack of effective ventilation, carbon monoxide can easily diffuse to the personnel.

Furthermore, cooking equipment such as stoves may also be a source of carbon monoxide. In the boat, cooking with a gas stove, if the gas combustion is incomplete, carbon monoxide will escape. Especially in the boat cabin with limited space and poor air circulation, the harm is even greater.

People traveling on a boat should be aware of the source of carbon monoxide, ventilate well, and regularly check the equipment to prevent the harm of carbon monoxide and ensure the safety of the boat.
