Are animals a source of carbon?

The world doubts whether animals are carbon sources. Looking at nature, the survival of animals is closely related to the cycle of carbon. Animals eat grass and trees, which contain carbon. After digestion and absorption, carbon enters the animal's body. Animals breathe, accept the new, and exhale carbon dioxide, which is the way for carbon to return to the atmosphere.

Furthermore, after an animal dies, its remains are either decomposed by microorganisms, and the carbon in it is gradually released, either into the soil or back into the atmosphere.

From this perspective, animals play the role of carbon sources in the carbon cycle. Their respiration, metabolism, and decomposition after death are all evidence of carbon sources. Therefore, it can be known that animals are carbon sources.
